On Wednesday, one person died and more than a dozen others were injured after lightning in Jackson Township, New Jersey.

Jean Godzki, a volunteer and instructor in the range, said that more than a dozen children were at the border with their parents for a competition, and there was no rain or rain vision when the electric strike took place.
He said, “Earth exploded. Dirt flew everywhere. And when I turned around, at least seven people were down on the ground, flat,” he said.
Godzki said he ran away to get a defibrilater, then demonstrated a CPR on a member of a club called Robert Montgomery. Unfortunately, the 61 -year -old man died of injuries.
“From the club here, we are heartbroken at the loss of a wonderful man on our property,” Godzaki said.
According to Godzki, Montgomery was a club members for many years.
He said, “We lost a great man who was out of here, doing something very charitable on the basis of volunteer to try and help young children,” he said.

Jackson Township police say 13 other people were hurt and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The youngest victim was 7 years old.
Police say at least one of the victims faced Burns and at least one person lost consciousness but later achieved it again, while others “did not feel well,” police say.
In a post on XGov Phil Murphy said that he was informed on the strike.
“Please pray for everyone involved in this tragic event,” he wrote, in part.
The power strike occurred when the storm went through the area, at one point a serious thunderstorm warning was triggered at the Ocean County.
