Officials said that the girl’s dead body, a class -7 student, was recovered from a area near a road in Sehpora Batpora in Genderbel in the morning.
Officials said a 14 -year -old girl was murdered after being abducted near her home in the rhinoceros district of Central Kashmir on Sunday.
India has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) after registering a case under Section 103 of the Indian Justice (BNS).
Officials said that a class -7 student, the body of the girl, in the morning, was recovered from an area near a road in Sehpora Batpora in Genderbal. The recovery of the dead body inspired anger and protest in the area demanding arrest for the killers and death sentence.
“The girl was a school student and when she was targeted, she was with her elder sister. The elder sister managed to escape, but the younger sister died. She was stabbed. We want the administration to arrest people involved and punish them,” said a protestor and neighbor of the victim’s family.
Genderbal Senior Superintendent of Police Khalil Poswal said that when she was out with her sister, the girl was kidnapped by some individuals near her house in Sehpora. “He was kidnapped and now found his body. We have recovered some clues. We have registered a case of murder under Section 103 BN and formed an SIT for a detailed investigation. The girl is about 14–15 years old,” said Poswal.
Forensic teams took some samples which were sent to Chandigarh and other laboratories for analysis.
Poswal said that the sister of the deceased has an idea of what happened but the rest of the family is still in trauma.
The police have called in Srinagar with the help of their associates and are also analyzing video footage in and around the area. “To find out who the kidnappers were and what is the cause of this incident, we have also called the teams of Srinagar. We have our forensic experts and we are also analyzing cameras on the routes for technical analysis,” he said.
The SSP also demanded to keep the support of the people calm and provide clues about the case.
“We ensure that we will work in this matter. We request people to keep calm. A board of doctors has also been formed for a detailed investigation,” he said.
