A 76 -year -old man has been arrested on suspicion of poisoning a 76 -year -old after the children fell ill at a summer camp in Lessesterreshire.
Police said that after taking eight children to the hospital on Sunday as a precaution, an investigation was going on at Canal Lane, Stather. All have been discharged since then.
The officers went to the camp with East Midlands Ambulance service after receiving reports about children who feel unwell.
The arrested person was detained on suspicion of poison administration/was a poisonous thing with the intention of getting injured/aggressive/angry. He remains in custody.
The Leesterushair police said the investigation was now led by the major event team of East Midlands Special Operations Unit.
“This allows a complete and intensive investigation to be accompanied by resources dedicated,” said a spokesman.
Officers live in Stathorn on Thursday, make further inquiries and establish what happened, as well as assurances to the affected families.
