A woman who has allowed a girl under 10 years of age to drive a car through the village of Aberdeenshire has been given a community peback order.
The 32-year-old Sophie-Legh Gemel admitted guilty and careless conduct after the footage in the first Crimond.
The young girl drove the car in barefoot and bad weather on July 10 last year.
In the Peterhead Sheriff Court, Gemel was ordered to do 134 hours of unpaid work in the community, which was reduced by 200 hours due to his petition.
A video of the incident – which lasted for about a minute – was seen on social media.
This made the child driving in the dark, using wipers and indicators, and pearing on the steering wheel.
The child has bare legs and playing music, including the Sugabes in a section.
Jamel from Crimond can be heard cheering during the video.
The Peterhead Sheriff Court heard that the child was clearly struggling to see the steering wheel.
It was also reported that the car wipers were operational and there were large areas of water standing on the road. Gemel directed the child to point out.
The court heard that when the police later attended Gemel’s address, he said: “Is it about the driving thing? I should not have done it.”
Last month, Gemmell accepted a child on a public road in bad weather and barefoot for the danger of others – especially for the child – barefoot allowed the consequences and careless conduct with disregard of results by allowing barefoot.
Sheriff Annela Kovan had previously postponed the sentence to receive a criminal justice social work report.
The court was told that Gemel wished to apologize and showed real regrets for his actions.
While sentenced to Gemel, Sheriff Alan Sinklair described his actions as “careless”.
She said that she was very lucky that she did not get more serious consequences.
He was told that he would have to complete his unpaid work within 12 months.
