New Delhi: After a five -year gap, and before PM Narendra Modi’s possible visit to China for the SCO Summit next month, India announced to resume tourist visas for Chinese citizens. Both sides have seen people to facilitate the exchange of people to normalize relationships. If this happens, it will be Modi’s first visit to the country in seven years. During his recent visit to China, Foreign Minister Jaishankar, citing a complex international situation, said that as neighboring countries and major economies, an open exchange of ideas and attitude between India and China was very important.According to an Indian readout, in the mechanism working for the interaction of consultation and coordination (WMCC) on India-China border cases, both sides agreed to regular exchange and contact on issues related to border cases at diplomatic and military levels through installed mechanisms.The upcoming SR negotiations were also focused on which Wang will be in India. “Both sides prepared for the next round of special representatives on the Indo-China border question to be held in India later this year,” said the Indian Redout.In December 2024, Dowal visited China for the final round of SR border talks.
