Army Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday gave detailed information about how India had planned a vengeance for the Pahalgam attack on 22 April, revealing that the armed forces were given “free hands” the next day.
The army chief said that a meeting was called on 23 April, and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that “is enough”.

Top army officers were talking about the launch of Operation Sindoor, military move against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir to avenge the Pahalgam attack.
He said that the political clarity given by the government to the three-servants helped promote morale, and “helped our army commander-in-chiefs stay on the ground and act according to their knowledge”.
Two days after the meeting, a plan was made how the target of terror would be hit, and seven of the target nine were later reduced to zero. Talking about the timeline of the steps taken further, the army chief said that the first meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi took place on April 29 after the Pahalgam attack.
