Train controllers at New Delhi, Agra Rail Division alleged on Thursday that senior officials issued oral orders, stating that the severity of disciplinary action would be determined by the number of mistakes made by them while on duty.
However, the official spokesperson of the Agra Division said that no disciplinary action has been taken or taken other than the permissible people as per railway rules.
Sources close to the control department said that they were released a fortnightly working review scheme on Thursday, stating that the first mistake would be in oral guidance or consultation, while the second would suspend all the leaves for the next three months and the next three months.
A controller of the Agra Rail Division said, “We have been further warned that if we make a third mistake, a recorded warning will be denying any weekly comfort or left for the next three months. Disciplinary action will follow the fourth mistake under discipline and appeal rules,” A controller of Agra Rail Division said while requesting the misleading.
“Employees have been told that the same disciplinary structure can be implemented in cases of negligence in monitoring,” he said.
On contact, the Divisional Operational Manager and Official Spokesperson Administrator Srivastava said, “The employees of the control office have been advised to do proper work to ensure the safety of trains and timely ban. According to the railway rules, no disciplinary action has been taken or will not be taken.”
Railway employees claimed that the oral threat has created fear in the minds of the controllers and believes that such threats would spoil the environment of healthy work.
A senior controller of another railway division said, “Instead of threatening controllers, who play an important role in safe train operations, seniors must be helpful and encouraging. Controller works under extreme pressure and any danger will further increase their problem.”
Divisional Secretary of North Central Railway Mains Union Sukesh Kumar Yadav condemned the oral threat order and said that if any action is taken against any controller on the basis of mistakes, NCRMU would stand in support of him.
Yadav said, “We will oppose any such action. I will write the Divisional Head to see the matter.”
