Why Apple’s AI team is subject to focus
The salary was revealed amidst paying attention to Apple’s artificial intelligence unit. In recent weeks, four engineers from Apple’s Apple Foundation Model (AFM) allegedly left for meta, pushed Apple to increase salary for top AI and machine learning talent.
Apple is currently hiring the machine learning, AR/VR, software engineering, and roles in data science, with the goal of expanding its capabilities in generic AI, on-device intelligence and personalization features in its equipment.
While meta and Google are also offering competitive packages, Apple’s filing suggests that it is matching, and in some cases, the next wave of product growth is more than market standards for central roles for wave of development.
