In a special interview with Fox News Digital, the Armenian Prime Minister Nicole Pashinian and Azerbaijani President Ilim Aliyev described an American-procession deal as a “historical” opportunity to end the struggle over three decades and start a new era of cooperation in the South Caucasus.
Speaking separately, the two leaders credited former President Donald Trump and US Special Envoy Steve Witcofof to guide the months of talks, who produced the framework agreement.
He underlined plans for business, infrastructure and investment, while accepting that major political and human issues may still need to be resolved before the deal is finalized.

Competition ideas on constitutional changes
Aliiv said that the agreement cannot be formally signed unless Armenia amends its constitution, claiming that he still questions Azerbaijan sovereignty.
“This is like their homework,” said Aliyev. “As soon as it is done … the final peace agreement will be signed.”
Pashinian rejected the situation, emphasizing Armenia and is already committed to respecting regional integrity and “no regional claims” to any neighbor. He confirmed that his government was drafting a new constitution, but it is called an “internal issue” unrelated to peace conditions.
Economic Cooperation and Trip Corridor
A central pillar of the deal is the manufacture of the “Tripp Corridor”, or the Trump route for international peace and prosperity, a transport and trade route that is designed to connect Armenia and Azerbaijan more directly, integrating the South Caucasus into a broader international shipping and energy network.
Aliaev said the project “one of the important parts of international transport”, saying that it would combine the Caspian Sea region with the markets of Europe, Middle East and Asia. The corridor is expected to work as a rail hub for goods, energy supply, and potentially cross-regional trade.
Pashinian described the agreement as a success “based on” regional integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, mutuality and the principles of internationally recognized boundaries “to open the agreement to open communication”.
“Now we have real peace … it’s time of general investment projects, to make financial support,” he said. “America’s participation will make this entire story even more attractive to potential investors.”

Human issues remain
The condition of refugees and prisoners is unstable with the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Thousands of ethnic Armenians fled from the region after taking control in the 2020 war and in the 2023 military operations. Many people were settled in Armenia, but the right to return disputes continues, the fate of those detained during and after the property claims and the fight.
Azerbaijan says that prisoners in its custody are fighters or sabotage, while Armenia and International Human Rights Group describe many of them as political prisoners. Pashinian warned that increasing the “very sensitive issues” could increase stress very aggressively.
“The issue of refugees is important, but we need to focus on signing a peace agreement … some very sensitive issues can revive the struggle to constantly outbreak, you know, and I think it is very important to focus on implementation for both Armenia and Azerbaijan which has already agreed.”
Talk to Tactics: Trump Pivots on Russia Strategy to and War

Praise for Trump, Biden’s criticism
Aliyev praised Trump’s direct participation in the peace process and criticized what he called Azerbaijan’s improper depiction under the Biden administration. He pointed to Azerbaijan’s cooperation with American military efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan and said that Trump’s return to active diplomacy made the current success possible.

White House Ceremony and Regional Importance
Pacinians and Aliyev interviewed a few hours after announcing the agreement with Trump at the White House – a rare moment of public unity in the long -defined field of war, blockade and mistrust.

While the structure determines the phase for generalized relations, the two leaders admitted that the hostility of decades would not disappear overnight. “It is not possible to change everything during one day, a week or one year,” said Pashinian. “But this is a very bright expression we want – both leaders, President Aliiva and ourselves – we want to change this whole situation.”
For Trump, this incident marked a high-profile example of credentials that make his deal on the world stage. For Armenia and Azerbaijan, it was a future towards a future that both say they are ready to build – if the remaining disputes could be resolved.
