A former deputy District Attorney believes that Barry Morphue will try to use “alternative suspects” defense after accusing him of killing his wife.
Morphue was charged for the disappearance of his wife, Suzanne Morphue, two daughters, after the Mother’s Day of 20 June 2020 on 20 June 2020 on the charge of murder by a grand jury in Colorado. Barry Morphue was arrested in Goodyer, Arizona, about 11 hours from where his wife went missing and was extradited in Colorado on 30 June.
Although Barry Morphue was first accused of killing his wife in 2021, those allegations were later removed due to prosecution misconduct. Suzanne Morphue’s body was found in September 2023, and a corpse examination determined that a deer tranquilizer named “Bam” was found in his bone marrow. The Bam chemical stands for beautorfanol, azaperone and meditomidine.
According to the prosecutors, the Barry Morphue was the only person with a leaflet for the deer tranquilizer within the Colorado region.

The prosecutors presented their first witness list on 16 July, which included both the daughters of Barry Morphue. Prosecutors do not need to testify all in the list.
Colorado, a Colorado lawyer and former Deputy District Attorney of the 18th Judicial District Attorney Office in Colorado, told Fox News Digital that he felt that the legal team of Barry Morphue tried and argued the “alternative suspect” killed and argued.
McClin said, “I hope to pursue any evidence related to alternative suspicious evidence in defense.”

McCallin pointed to the fact that an unknown DNA profile was found after her disappearance in the range of Suzanne Morphue, which was not related to Barry Morphue. The court documents states that unknown DNA was found in the glove box between other places.
“You know, one of the things that have always been allowed in this case, one of these unknown DNA profiles exists which were found on some items of some evidence, which were found, you know that when she went missing initially, it was probably indicated to someone else,” McClin.
“You can’t just throw the name and say, the person did it, get it. So, you know, I think if they have any ability to pin this murder on anyone other than Barry Morphue, they are going to detect those defense.”

In November 2022, Brian Kohberger, convicted of killing Idaho students of four universities, tried to implement the “alternative criminal” principle, but Judge Steven Hippler did not allow it. Referring to the so -called alternative criminal in that case, the court documents were sealed, but the Hippler expressed doubt.
McCallin said that the case against Barry Morphue is still “very circumstantial”, which can disrupt the prosecutors.
“We know that chemical was found in his body. We know where his body was found. But we do not really know more completely. We do not know where the body was taken.
