A former star of The Bill of ITV has helped real -life officials to arrest a suspected shopkeeper.
Jeff Stewart, who played the role of PC Rage Hallis for 24 years, came to Southampton’s Ocean Way on Wednesday to help the police.
Before applying handcuffs to the escape suspect fell from a bicycle and Stewart, who lives locally, sat on his feet.
In the video of the arrest issued by Hampshire and Isle of White Constables, officials thanked the actor before asking for a group photo.
Star replied: “No, sure, man. Okay, I was in the bill for 24 years at the TV show. Yes, I played the regure.”

He fell as he started pedaling and wrestling was done on the ground.
The actor was on the scene in seconds, wearing shorts and sunglasses, helping two officers, helping two officers.
A spokesman from the Hampshire Constabulary said: “You should always expect unexpected in policing, but it was not really on the bill for this week.”
Describing Stewart as “local TV legend”, the spokesperson said: “Since retiring from Sun Hill Station – but it is still found.”
The actor released a long -running police drama in 2008.
He appeared in a music video for Indie Pop band Miike Snow.

Police said 29-year-old Mohammad Dialo of Anglesia Road accepted the thief to steal alcohol and food in five separate incidents in Southampton.
He was released on bail and will be sentenced by Southampton Magistrates in August.
