DJ Calvin Harris has divided fans with a post announcing the birth of his child.
The Scottish DJ, who is married to Radio 1 host Vik Hope, praised his “superhero” wife on Instagram in a series of photographs taken in Ibisa, showing moments after the birth of son Micah’s house.
He also uploaded a shot of Vik’s placenta, with images shown de-hydrated and converted into bullets.
While many ran away to congratulate the couple, others said that they were surprised by graphic photo – which has since been killed by the social media site with an age ban.
Calvin told his 11 million followers that his son was born on July 20 – he was “very grateful” for a new arrival.
Singer examples and scotland footballer Andy Robertson, Radio 1 presenter Ariel Free, as well as celebrities to congratulate the couple who wrote: “Welcome to the World We Mica”.
Singer Becky Hill was among those who praised the decision to share pictures of the placenta.
“Amazing that we develop a new organ to provide life!” she wrote.
“Good job is not ruining it, this is some goddess magic!”
Others praised the post for “normal” after delivery.
But some questioned whether it was necessary to include the photo without warning, while others expressed surprise.
“I was not ready for the placenta photo,” one wrote, and another replied: “Placenta and placenta pills were not on my bingo card for today, but fine.”
The placenta is an organ formed in the womb during pregnancy that gives a fetus oxygen and nutrients.
It also acts as a filter to protect from toxins and pollutants.
Some people claim that eating placenta after the birth of a child provides health benefits for new mothers.
Various preparation methods are used, including consuming organs or cooking it.
Some parents will dehydrate the placenta and turn into vitamin-style tablets through a process called encapsulation.
