A Lamborghini driver has banned from temporarily driving, increasing the speed of 140mph (225 kmph).
60 -year -old Fred McKenon of Elmustad Road, Colchester, Essex was seen by officials on the A120 dual carriageway in Tackle near Stanstad Airport in January.
When he caught him, he saw that he had illegal tinted windows. Police said the car was confiscated under the anti -social driving law.
The McKenon Basildon Magistrate appeared in the court and was banned for 56 days and received three penalty points on his license for tinted windows.
Essex police stated that tinted windows were regulated by law for safety reasons – Windscreen should allow at least 75% visible light through glass and the front driver and passenger windows should allow at least 70%.
A spokesperson said that the front windows of McKenn fell below 30% of light transmission.
PC Matthew Mehen said: “At this stage the speed is completely unacceptable and shows a careless disregard for safety.
“Excessive speed dramatically reduces a driver’s ability to change the road conditions and reduce the braking distance.”
McCenn was also fined with a fine and a cost of £ 1,708.
A120 in TAKELEY has a national speed limit of 70mph (112 km/h).
