China on Thursday condemned an American military buildup on the coast of Venezuela, accusing Washington of engaging in foreign intervention amidst the trump administration’s attempt to combat drug cartel.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning was talking with reporters when he was asked about the deployment of Navy.
“China opposes any step that violates the United Nations Charter and a country’s sovereignty and safety objectives and principles,” Ning said. “We oppose the use or danger of force in international relations and protest against the intervention of external forces in the internal affairs of Venezuela under any excuse.”
