New Deki: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Central Government to issue a lookout notice for a Russian woman absconding with its child. The bench instructed the authorities to “seize their passports” and inform airports and immigration officials across the country to ensure that it does not leave the country. The father, involved in a detention fight with his Russian wife, alleged that he has violated the court orders by stopping access to his minor child. He claimed that he had no knowledge of his hideout since July 7, despite repeated filing complaints, any of whom said, he said, according to PTI, inspired any action.“The child’s father stated that the petitioner has been given the facility to escape from the jurisdiction of this court. He was seen entering the Russian Embassy with a back door with a Russian diplomat on July 4, 2025, with which he is accused of having some relationship with him. It has been further alleged that the police failed to provide security to the minor child, causing the directions issued by the court to collapse, “PTI said the bench said.“Keeping in mind the competence, diplomatic relationship, and autonomy by separate embassies, we are not issuing any direction regarding the Russian Embassy officials in India. However, we do not hesitate to see that if we on the basis of police report, we should connect any royal personnel related to the law,” Went. The court urged the top official of the Russian Embassy to assist Indian officials including Delhi Police in implementing their orders. This criticized the woman’s lawyer to give vague response to her hideout, increasing doubt about her credibility. The order was also directed to share with senior legal and police officers for compliance.“The Union of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of External Affairs, the Union of India, India is also directed to communicate this order for all international airports and other ports within India, and the immigration officials are informed to ensure that neither petitioner (woman) nor minor child is allowed to leave the country,” order. This hearing has been posted for July 18. Since 2019, the mother of a Russian citizen living in India on X-1 visa extended her visa from time to time during the ongoing proceedings by the Supreme Court. On 22 May, the court also directed the Delhi Police to maintain prudent but effective monitoring on parents’ residences.
