Air Force Chief of Staff General David Alvin announced that he was retiring in November, just two years in a four -year tenure as the top general of the Air Force.
The Air Force said in a statement issued on Monday, “I am grateful to the opportunity to serve as the head of the 23rd Air Force and I am grateful to the confidence of Secretary Micke, Secretary Hegseth and President Trump.” He did not give any reason for his early departure.

Alvin said, “Nothing, I am proud that I was part of those Airmen’s team, who live our basic values of integrity, service and excellence every day.”

Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said in a statement, “During its tenure, it is lucky for leaders like General Dave Alvin in the Air Force. The Air Force has taken a transformative initiative that will enable the airman to respond to his country’s call for the coming decades.”
