President Donald Trump pressurized the top Republican in the Senate Judiciary Committee to eliminate a long -term practice in the Senate to accelerate his nomination in district courts and US Attorney offices in the Senate, but the legalists are not jumping.

He alleged that the practice was “perhaps unconstitutional,” and he said that a President would not be allowed to “appoint a person of his choice”.

“Now, for people in real America – not here in Washington, DC, an island surrounded by reality – people in real America do not care what ‘blue slip’ is, but, in fact, it affects the district judges who serve their communities and ensure laws and order to American lawyers,” said Grassley. “I was angry about what the President said, and I am disappointed that it would insult personal.”
Trump’s anger comes as the Senate Republican is working to RAM as many of his nominees through the blockade of Senate Democrats. Currently, the legalists are working on a deal to get more less hanging fruit nominations like ambassadors, rather than eating away from the time of the floor.
