Divo Jota’s family is expected to be in Enfield for the Premier League game against Bornemouth in Liverpool on Friday.
League champions are planning to pay tribute to their former forward, who died at the age of 28 with his brother Andre Silva last month in a car accident in northern Spain, who was 25 years old.
A moment of silence will be held in all Premier League matches at the end of this week, in which the players were wearing black armbands, while the stadiums would show messages and pictures on large screens.
Liverpool confirmed that the Enfield would also have a fan -led tribute, in which a special mosaic was unveiled in the anger and Sir Kenny Dallaish stand during the period of silence.
In his program notes for Friday’s game, Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot says: “We know that it will be a very emotional opportunity, given that this is the first league game we have played because we have lost diaogo and Andre.
“As I have said earlier, the tribute that has been paid in the world of football, and especially within the LFC community, is really special, and I know that tonight we will once again come together to honor them.
“I believe that Diogo’s wife, his child and his family will be in appearance and it is important that, as a club, we show that they will always love and support us because they deal with this saddly situations. We are always for them.”
Liverpool players will showcase their tributes with ‘Forever 20’ symbol printed on their shirt and stadium jacket. It will remain in place for the season.
The club earned the title of 20th English League in the previous season, in which Jota wore number 20 shirts, which the club decided to retire after consulting with other members of the family of former Portugal International, Root Cardso and other members of Jota.
