Chris Woakes states that rehabilitation may be “a risk he is ready to pick up”. To fit for ash, instead of surgery on a shoulder injury in England’s fifth Test necklace against India.
The 36 -year -old is waiting for the results of a scan, after which one day a suspected disorganized shoulder was faced in the Oval.
England had dropped him out of the rest of the test, but he still exited in a sling to bat with his left arm as he chased that a dramatic last morning would be a series-clining victory.
The first Ashes test begins in Perth on 21 November.
“I am waiting to see what is the limit of damage, but I think options will try to do surgery or try to go down from a rehabilitation route and strengthen it as much as possible,” Volks told the BBC Sport.
“I think there will be a chance with this naturally, but I think it may be a risk that you are ready to take this kind of thing.
“Everything I hear from physio and experts is that the rehabilitation of a surgery option will be close to four months or three to four months. It is clearly touching ash and Australia so that it is difficult.
“From the point of view of a rehabilitation you may probably re -strengthen it within eight weeks. So that it can be an option, but is still clearly waiting to receive the full report on it.”
