Team officials filed a complaint to control the body world rugby on the incident when the replacement of visitors was getting hot in the first half.
England’s seven replacement for the match were Curtis Langdon, Beven Road, Ashra Opoku-Fordjor, Chandler Cunningham-South, Gai Pepper, Alex Dombrand, Jack Van Portwell and Kadon Murle.
World rugby said, “While it is clear that an incident happened, we regret that responsible persons cannot be identified.”
Union Argentina de Ragby (UAR) president Gabriel Travaglini said, “Intensive efforts were made to identify a small group of five or seven persons responsible within a crowd of more than 20,000 spectators.”
“Unfortunately, despite a complete discovery, it was not possible to identify criminals.
“We strongly condemn all acts of racism and England stand in solidarity with rugby players, who felt tragic.”
He said that the UAR will work with the world rugby to educate fans.
There have been many recent high-profile cases of discriminatory behavior in the game of Argentina.
In 2020, both Pablo Mater and Guido Patty, both played in the match at San Juan, were suspended from the team, when they said after the racist remarks made on social media several years ago.
In 2024, Chelsea footballer Enzo Fernandez apologized to the team-matches after joining with a chanting, questioning the heritage of French’s black and mixed race players.
World Rugby President Brett Robinson said, “Ragby completely condemns any discriminatory behavior.”
“We provide their full support to the players and want to know that rugby stands with them in opposing racism. I appreciate my courage whether it would have been a highly disturbing experience.”
England defeated the United States 40–5 at Washington DC on Saturday to ensure a clean sweep of three wins from three matches on their summer tour.
