Firefighting is dealing with a major fire on Arthur’s seat at the center of Edinburgh.
The explosion was seen spreading rapidly across the hill in Holiroad Park in the city after 16:00 and the police have urged people to stay away from the area.
Supporters in the Hyberian V Kilmarnock match have been asked to escape from Villobre, Dudingstone and Holiroad areas while leaving the Easter Road Stadium.
Reports show that people were seen leaving the seat of Arthur as soon as the fire spread.
Landmark is near the historic old city of Edinburgh and climbing the hill to enjoy city scenes is a popular activity for tourists and locals.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “People of the public no longer need to alert our operational control room about this fire, as we are receiving many calls for this phenomenon.”
Nick Bryce from Brighton said that when she was spread in flames below the hill, he was scared.
He told the BBC Scotland News: “We could see this small plum of smoke on the far side and it became big and bigger.
“Suddenly we started coming up with these flames and people saw that it was spreading rapidly.
“The creation of smoke actually started and then these flames started covering the ridge and we realized that the wind was blowing it towards us.
“We had to get on the road fast because it was about to come in the entire region.”
Mr. Bryce, who is performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, said that he still passed the hill and urged them to hang around.
He said: “Now the entire hill is covered in flames and we are coming down on the path we walk.”
During one of its busiest weekends of the year, smoke is running a bill in the city with Edinburgh festivals in full enthusiasm.
