Connor McGregor has lost his civil jury appeal against a discovery that he has sexually assaulted a woman.
In November, McGregor was ordered to pay £ 206,000 in addition to damage to Nikita Hand, who accused her of raping her in a hotel in Dublin in 2018.
McGragger appealed on the grounds that his lawyers believed that the police should not have been put in front of the jury during the interview.
His barrister also argued that a question on the “numeral paper” given to the jury should have been made differently to help decide his decision.
Three senior judges in the appeal court in Dublin rejected the appeal on all grounds.
The appeal was based on several issues arising from Civil Trial in Dublin’s High Court last year.
He included a reference to the question that “Is Conner McGragger attacked Nikita?” The jury is being asked on the issue paper.
The legal team of Connor McGregor said that he should have specified sexual harassment.
However, a barrister for Ms. Hand said that “Assault” included several attacks, “we were attacking rape”.
He added the question to the jury “had added and the jury could not be confused by it”.
In an interview with McGregor Guardai (Irish police officers), he was appealing for an issue around handling his answers.
His legal team reported that the jury replied to McGregor about 100 “no comments” to Guardai.
His barrister stated that he had the right to give silence in police interviews and was “left hanging”, allowing the jury to conclude adverse conclusions.
The legal team of Ms. Hand fought the argument by saying that if it was such a serious issue for McGregor at that time, “would definitely have been an application to discharge the jury”.
His barrister said that such an application was not made.
McGregor’s legal appeal was also raising an issue about the judge’s charge of the jury during the civil test.
