Dame Anetan Brooke, who became the longest working female Liberal Democrat MP, died at the age of 78.
Dame Anetan served mid-dorset and North Pule constituency in Parliament from 2001 to 2015 and was elected MP in 2010.
A teacher of economics at Ilsbury and then Bornemouth, she was also a tutor with Open University for 20 years.

Dame Anetan Brook had a strong interest in developing countries and campaigned for microfinance to help the world’s poorest people become self -sufficient.
In Parliament he spoke on home matters under Charles Kennedy, and then proceeded to develop Liberal Democrats on children, schools and families.
