A regional governor says that at least 12 people have been killed in the Israeli airstrikes in the eastern Beka Valley of Lebanon.
Five Syrians, including a family of five and three Lebanese, were written by Balbek-Harrmal Governor Bachir Khodr on X when the plaintiff was killed in the Fara area. The other two deaths were reported in Schmstar.
The Israeli army stated that it had killed several military compounds belonging to the armed group Hizbollah, including its elite redwan force training camps.
These were the deadliest attacks because a ceasefire ended a year of the fight between Israel and Hizbullah, including the two-month all-out war, which severely weakened the group.
Hizbullah has not yet commented on attacks, although its Al-Monner TV channel stated that they formed a violation of both the ceasefire and the sovereignty of Lebanon.
Arabic -language spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Amail Adrai, a spokesman of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), said that Tuesday’s attacks on X killed many Hizbollah goals.
“As part of the strike, military compounds related to the redwan force have been targeted, where terrorist operators and godowns are used to store fighter equipment employed by Hizbullah,” Edrai said.
Redwan force is the elite commando unit of Hizbullah.
The IDF said in a separate English statement that it had killed the commanders of the Redwan Force in September 2024 – when it launched an intensive air campaign against Hizbullah and attacked the southern Lebanon – and since then the unit was “operated to re -establish its abilities”.
The IDF stated that the storage of weapons and military activities in Hizbullah’s Beka Valley “violated understanding between Israel and Lebanon and formed the future threat to the Israeli state.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katj said that a “clear message” was sent to the Hizbullah and the Lebanese government, emphasizing that Israel was designed to “reply with maximum force against any attempt to reconstruct Hizbullah’s military capabilities.
In November, the United Nations Security Council proposal was the full implementation of the United Nations Security Council, which ended the Final War in 2006, the basis of the ceasefire agreement between the Broked Israeli and Lebanese governments by the US mediation.
Hizbullah needed to withdraw its army north of the Litni River, about 30 km (20 mi) from the Israeli border – only leaving the Lebanese army and the United Nations peacekeepers leaving the authorized to work with weapons in that area.
Israel needed to pull its army completely from Lebanon, but it maintains a military appearance on five sites in the south which it considers strategically important.
The agreement also mentions that Sankalp confirmed the previous security council for “disarmament of all armed groups” in Lebanon.
