AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owasi slammed the introduction of three controversial bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, which proposes that a sitting minister, Chief Minister and even the Prime Minister can be removed from his post within a month if he is arrested or detained for a direct crime for 30 days, which is the prison period for five years or more.
Opposing the bills, Owaisi said that they “violate the principle of separating the powers and reduce people’s right to choose the government.”
The AIMIM chief said that the bill “gives free runs” to executive agencies to become a judge and executioner, which is based on allegations and doubt. “
Owaisi further stated that the bill “would” empower uneven officials and agencies to play the role of legislature, saying that the amendment would leave Chief Ministers and Ministers for “mercy of agencies”.
