House GOP Fiscal Hawks has requested millions of federal dollars for projects for the financial year 2026 in its home districts, found in an analysis of Fox News Digital.
It is common for Congress MPs to request money for specific community initiatives for those they represent – measures called “earmarks”. Critics of such funding have often referred to it as “pork”.
This upcoming financial year, starting from October 1, is no different – both Republican and Democrats have a request of over one billion dollars so far.
It includes conservatives in the House of Representatives, who are known to criticize what they describe as excessive or bloated government expenses.
