HP Elitebook 8 G1 is a laptop that keeps itself as an AI-manual business-class device designed for modern professional workpieces. It is powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen AI processor and enterprise-grade security facilities, with the initial price 1,30,000. I have been using this laptop directly for more than two weeks, and here are my views about this laptop.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: Design and Build Quality
The design is super clean, simple and refreshed; The lid, deck and the bottom color and finish are amazing. It is not very silver and is not completely white, somewhere in the middle, which looks stunning. At 1.39 kg, it is not competing with the premium ultrabook, but is still not felt during daily traffic. The chassis of the laptop is made from recycled materials, and it looks strong.
When I said the design was clean, I meant. There are no brand stickers that disorganize the deck of these laptops. This nonsense is gone, and I really appreciate it because let’s just face it, everyone hates them but cannot remove them because they are going to leave a relic. I request all OEMs to move those stickers under the laptop if they are important.
Port selection is generous; This includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, USB-C and USB-A. It basically involves everything you need without the need to reach for the dongle. A SIM card slot option is always on connectivity, but I want it to be standard at this price point. Overall, the design and construction quality are quite impressive, and I loved this amazing color especially.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: Display
The 14 -inch performance is a different story; The 1080p panel comes with 16:10 aspect ratio and is perfect for productivity. The angle of narrow view is not a bug, it is a feature; It is designed to prevent the audience from peeping into performance. There is an automatic filter that enables an audience to detect; This filter limits the visibility of further content.
When using the matte finish laptop on the display, it does an excellent work of cutting the dazzle in the rooms with light light. The display has 800 nits of peak brightness, which is perfect to handle all bright conditions without breaking sweat.
But, and this is important, this performance is not for entertainment. It is not that this laptop is designed for movie nights, but narrow viewing angle will want you more than this laptop. It is a serious business-class device; There is nothing fancy about this performance – no high refreshing rate, no HDR support, or nothing.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: Keyboard and Trackpad
HP’s keyboard game is strong; The keys are touching and provide satisfactory response with a very consistent journey that makes the typing experience comfortable. It is backlit and quite responsible; It seems right what you expect from a business laptop.
Trackpad deserves special mention; This glass-top trackpad provides a smooth finish. It is actually one of the best trackpads I have so far used in a commercial laptop. Tracking is very accurate, and gestures work perfectly; The size of the trackpad is also generous. I have the only grip that it is not a haptic trackpad, which I think should be a feature at this price point.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: Performance
This is where things are interesting, not necessarily in a good way. Elitebook 8 G1A 8 core, 16 threads, integrated Radeon 860M graphics, and AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processors run with 50 Tops NPU for AI workload.
While it seems impressive on paper, the actual performance wanted me more than this chipset. Cinebench scores are respectable, but the processor has no exception to this class. I tried to customize the performance from HP’s customizing app, but it did not improve the situation.
Integrated graphics can correct business functions completely, but when any creative work or even mild gaming is worked hard, the boundaries become clear. When a similar price is compared to the Intel Core Ultra Laptop, there is a noticeable performance difference that is difficult to ignore. 50 Tops do their work for AI-prolific tasks such as NPU background blur and transcription. I found the performance in the AI section very satisfactory.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: AI features and safety
HP has loaded this machine with AI abilities, which features NPU in chipset and HP AI partner and even Poly Camera Pro. These characteristics actually work, and I am greatly impressed by performance.
HP Wolf security for business provides bios-level security, real-time hazard control and safe browsing with safe browsing. For IT departments, these security features actually justify the pricing that comes for it.
HP Elitebook 8G1A: Battery Life
The performance of the battery is the place where the elitebook rebuilds itself; Backup is really impressive. Through my specific workdays, which is mostly browser tabs, spreadsheets and video calls, it continuously gave a full day of use from a full charge.
The 62Wh battery added with Intelligent Power Management means that you are not hunting for the outlet till mid-dopy. In testing, it manages about 8 hours in about 50% shine, which is sufficient for a commercial laptop. HP Elitebook 8G1A is a wonderful business laptop that corrects most things. And what I loved is build quality, battery life and security facilities. Whatever I was not affected is to perform and perform. So I would suggest you to buy this laptop until you are completely convinced that you want a business laptop that is safe and offers you all AI features that you will need during your work hours.
