Players of Hull City Ladies say they hope that the Euro 2025 tournament will result in more funding for women’s football as a result of the success of the lioness.
England’s women’s team defeated Spain on Sunday for lifting the trophy in Basel.
Sophie Tinson, a striker at Hull City Ladies FC, said: “You have not found many big clubs here, so hopefully it will bring more funding here.”

Tinson said that his brother included him with football and he started playing in a boys team before working for the women of the city.
He hoped that the success of the lioness would have more funds for women clubs in the lower leagues.

Defender Darcy Sugden-Brook said that women had already improved for their generations.
“Surely women’s football is going to have a lot of coverage, but I already feel that it is growing up in itself,” she said.
Physio of the club, Jamie Lee Robinson said that the team had seen an increase in the number of audiences, especially young girls.
