Joffra Archer of England took 2–16 because Dakshin Bahadur comfortably defeated Birmingham Phoenix by nine wickets in men’s hundred.
Archer and New Zealand spinner Michael Bracewell, who took 3–10, banned Phoenix to 106–7, the only contributor to Clarke’s 36 and Ben Docket 20 notes.
It was a malignant performance from Bahadur’s bowling attack, led by Archer and Chris Jordan’s speed, as they were under full control after winning the toss.
Docket was caught behind Jordan, Jacob Bethel was bowled by Bracewell for one for one, before Archer removed Liam Livingstone for 12 and Clarke caught in mid-off with eight balls, which was left to finish the expectations of Phenix’s competitive total.
Brave cautiously started his chase to reach 28–0 after the powerplay of 25-people, but increased his run-vet before dismissing James Vince for 41, 75 for the first wicket with Leouse Do Ploy.
Du Ploy remained unbeaten at 48 out of 39 balls with former England opener Jason Roy, as he was cruel for the target under him with 19 balls.
Brave defending champions Oval Invinebals with two to two wins on top of the table, while Phoenix has lost both of his early matches.
