New Delhi: Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday resigned as Vice President, citing the need to follow health concerns and medical advice. In his resignation letter, he said that the decision was taken to “prefer health care” in light of ongoing health issues. “To prioritize health care and follow medical advice, I resign as the vice -president of India, immediately effective according to Article 67 (A) of the Constitution,” Dhankhar wrote in a letter addressed by Dhankhar to President Daupadi Murmu.
In his resignation letter, Dhankhar thanked the President for his “unwavering support” and described his work relationship as “soothing and amazing”. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Council of Ministers for the support of the Prime Minister, called the Prime Minister’s support “invaluable”.
He said, “The warmth, trust and affection I have received from all the honorable members of Parliament will ever be nurtured and built in my memory.” Dhankhar also said that it was a privilege for India’s “notable economic progress” and “unprecedented incomplete development” during his tenure. As he stepped down, he expressed “unwavering confidence” in the future of the country, which is called the global growth of Rot “unprecedented”.
