One of the last people who spoke to Jai Slater said that the 19 -year -old man was not threatened because he had made a house with an AirBNB that he went with two people, who he met at a Tanerif’s nightclub, he was heard by an inquiry.
Oswaldwistal, Sri Slater of Lancashire, went missing on the Spanish Island on 17 June 2024, immediately after talking to his friend Bradley Goggon on the phone.

The inquiry heard that he had taken drugs and alcohol one night and was 14 hours a walk in the house.
Mr. Joggan, who went on a holiday with Mr. Slater, said that his friend had taken Palmanand’s bullets, and possibly with ketamine, cocaine and alcohol, to the night before disappearing at night.
The court heard that Mr. Slater was forced to leave a nightclub as he was so intoxicated and instead of returning to the apartment shared with Mr. Zoggan, he went on leave with two men, an AirBNB, miles away.
The next morning Mr. Joggan said that he received a video call from Mr. Slater, which was running with a road and still “under influence”, heard by interrogation.
Mr. Joggan said: “I said that you ask your map to see how far you were. It was like a 14 -hour walk or an hour -long drive.
“I said, ‘Go back a taxi’, then he just goes, ‘I will ring you back’.”
The witness said that he did not think his friend had any money on him, and the taxis in Tannerif insisted on payment before taking the rent.
Coroner Dr. James Adle asked the witness: “Did you realize that he was threatened or frightened in any way, or under Duras in a difficult situation?”
Mr. Joggan replied: “No, I think he may have reached there and thought, ‘Why am I here?’, Decided to absorb and come back.”
‘Last phone call’
The inquiry also heard from the Lucy Act, who traveled to Tannerif with Mr. Slater.
He recalled a phone call received from a friend on the morning of 17 June 2024.
He said that he was told that Mr. Slater was in the mountains and he did not have a phone battery left.
Ms. Law then described a subsequent phone call with Mr. Slater – the final known outgoing communication from her phone – in which she asked her where she was and what she is doing.
“He was like ‘I am in the middle of the mountains”.
He said that Mr. Slater told him that there was “nothing literal” around him.
She said she was nervous because her battery was low, and asked her to go back from where he came.
Mr. Slater went to the NRG concert with friends at Papagayo Nichclub at the resort, Playa de Las on June 16 last year.
Mr. Slater disappeared in the morning after visiting AirBNB and on June 18, the Spanish police were reported to have disappeared.
The evidence heard during interrogation suggested that he had quit the holiday, and after failing to receive a bus or taxi, tried to walk back to his own apartment and fell into a ravine from a height.
About a month later a major discovery was started by a Mountain rescue team before his body was found.
‘There is no evidence of the attack’
Mr. Slater’s mother, Debbie Duncan, asked for questioning about death to resume after several witnesses. Did not attend final hearing In May.
Dr. Adale agreed to postpone the inquiry to locate the witnesses, with her in hours before disappearing.
In May, the hearing heard from several witnesses, in which the toxicology specialist Dr. Stephanie Martin included.
The court heard that analysis revealed that drug marks, cocaine, ketamine and ecstasy, with alcohol, were found in the body of Sri Slater.
Home Office Pathologist Dr. Richard Shepherd said that his post -mortem examination gave the cause of death in the form of head injuries, and Mr. Slater’s body showed no evidence of restraint or attack, with a pattern of injuries with a height decline.
‘From her head’
CH Inspector Rachel Higson, the details of Lancashire Constabulary, said that the police had analyzed the phone data of Mr. Slater.
At night, he received a phone message from friends that he was asking him to go home because he was “away from his head”.
The phone location data suggested that Mr. Slater traveled to AirbnB and Airbnb the next morning and left the property at around 07.45.
The statements of Spanish witnesses stated that they were contacted and were asked by Mr. Slater about buses or taxis to take her home.
More messages from friends warned him about the “boiling” heat of the day, but the activity data on his phone closed at 08:51, suggesting that his phone’s battery had died.
The next witness, Ayub Qasim said that he and a friend, Steven Roks, Mr. Slater and his friends met in Taneur.
He said that he was in a different place, then met Mr. Slater and Mr. Zoggan later and got something to eat after the closes of the clubs.
He said that Mr. Slater asked if he could return to himself and Shri Rokas’s apartment.
Giving evidence through the videoolink, Mr. Kasim told the hearing: “I said, ‘Brother, Oh friend, it is far away from the strip’.
“Apart from the scenes, nothing is happening there. I said that I will leave him in the morning. He rolled with us.”
‘Not stolen’
The coroner then asked the witness about the messages that Mr. Slater sent about a watch which was probably being stolen.
The inquiry showed a Snapchat video, with a car characterized by a car dashboard, with a caption to take “12k roli” and “to get 10 quids for it”.
He said: “Jai did not steal any watch. I can say one hundred percent.”
Mr. Slater asked to explain the social media post, the witness said: “He can boast of his friends. He is in a discussion, so it may be perhaps. Sometimes people do exaggeration.”
The coroner said: “But as far as you are worried, none of them are true?”
Mr. Qasim said: “No. One hundred percent. I did not see a watch. At this point he is just firing messages.”
He said that when he reached his AirBNB, he gave Mr. Slater a blanket and pillow and said that he could sleep on the couch before going to his bed.
Warned him
Mr. Qasim said that after a short time he woke up to press the bajar by a couple because he wanted him to transfer his car.
When he got out of his car, Mr. Slater came towards him and said that he was leaving and “bus catching” to go back to his apartment, Mr. Qasim told the court.
He said that he said that Mr. Slater had no bus and warned him against it.
Mr. Qasim said that he asked Mr. Slater to wait and he would later run him back but he replied that his friends were waiting for him.
Mr. Qasim said that he went back to sleep, it is believed that Mr. Slater was waiting at the bus stop.
Koroner asked him if there was any dispute between him, in which Mr. Qasim replied: “No.”
