Former Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbin is starting a new political party for “rich and powerful” for redistribution of money.
For Isington North, the independent MP said that the party – which is yet to have no name – will provide an alternative to the “control devil” and reform of the UK “dangerously divisive” politics.
Earlier, Corbin issued a joint statement with Zara Sultana, who recently left Labor to become an independent MP, saying: “This is the time for a new kind of political party – one that is for you.”
In response to the launch, a source of a labor party said: “Voters have given their verdict on Jeremy Corbin’s LED party twice.”
In a statement, announced a plan to form a new party, Corbin and Sultana “a fortune from rising bills such as child poverty, giant corporations” and the government said “there is no money for the poor, but billions for war”.
Asked if his party would have a hash of labor again under his leadership, Corbin said: “The Labor Party is a very top-down, highly centralized party that is full of control freaks that want to control whatever goes inside the party …
“It is going to be the community-led, community-based, grassroots-leading, it’s going to be very different, and you know what? It’s going to be fun.”
Speaking to the BBC on Thursday evening before a local community program in his Isington constituency, he said the party structure would be “quite federal”.
He said that “the main set of values and beliefs” would be “, but” a lot of local autonomy “.
Your party is the name of the sign-up website, but Sultana Posted on X To fix some initial reports, suggesting that it was the name of the new party, saying: “It is not called your party!”
Corbin dismissed the suggestions that the new enterprise was launched randomly, reporters were told: “It is not a mess at all, it is a completely consistent approach.”
Asked when they would choose a name for the party, he said: “We are going to decide when we have all the reactions, and the response rate has been largely on a large scale.
“They are coming in 500 in a minute who want to join and join the new party.”
He also insisted that the relationship with Sultana was “all fine”, saying that “we are working together”, although his co-leaders were in his Covantry constituency.
New co -leaders come for very different political generations – Corbin was an MP for almost half a century, Sultana for only six years.
But they share a belief that there is an energy on the left of British politics on which they can capitalize.
The pair is encouraging people to sign up to join “a real, democratic option contained in the top and bottom communities above the country”.
In his statement, he says that the expected inauguration conference in the autumn will determine the policies of the party.
But his appointment on political spectrum is clear: on the left side of the labor party on tax, nationalization and immigration; And quite more anti -Israel.
His declared ambition is to be taken to “rich and powerful – and win”.
But even in a general election, even a minor part of the vote can leave the labor at the risk of losing some seats, even if it is not directly in the new party.
Their first test may come soon. The party is now expected to run and run on time for local elections in May 2026, including the council elections in London and other cities that are likely to prove to be the most fertile region for this party.
Labor’s internal vulnerability for his left flank was recently shown by the Prime Minister U-turn on their welfare plans in the final minuteFinally, despite the working majority of 165 MPs, pushing through a tickling bill by only 75 votes.
The rumors of a corbin-led party have been rubbing for months, but Sultana jumped a gun when leaving the Labor Party earlier this month and announced that she would be a co-founder of a new party with him.
Sultana was suspended last year along with six other MPs from the Parliamentary Labor Party, when he voted against the government to return a two-profit cap.
Although four of those Labor MPs returned to the party, former shadow Chancellor John McDonal did not do, although he has so far refused to join his former leadership partner.
The pair stood down after the 2019 general election defeat, and Corbin was later suspended from the party, which he was included as a teenager by his successor Sir Kir starrer.
However, Corbin was successfully standing as an independent candidate in the 2024 general election, and has since been coordinating a small group of four Pro-Gaja independent MPs who are expected to make the origin of any new party.
