Garhwa: Police said four people were killed in a septic tank in Garhwa district of Jharkhand on Friday.
Three of the deceased were brothers, he said. The incident took place in Nawada village, Dig (Palamu Range) Naushad Alam told PTI.
The victims were identified as Ajay Chaudhary (50), Chandrashekhar Chaudhary (42), and Raju Shekhar Chaudhary (55), brothers and Maltu Ram.
An investigation is going on, police said that the bodies were sent for post -mortem examination.
Garhwa Sanjay Kumar’s Deputy Divisional Officer told PTI that it was a newly built septic tank, and the incident occurred when one after the other, all four persons cleaned it to clean it after removing the shuttering.
He said that the four were taken out with the help of villagers and rushed to Garhwa Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
