Nearly two months after losing the battle with YouTuber Jake Paul, boxer Julio Sesar Chavez Junior has been sent to Mexico. Chavez Junior currently wants for alleged cartel relations in Mexico.
Mexican President Claudia Shinbam confirmed the news at his daily press conference on Tuesday.
“I think he was deported. I don’t know it was yesterday or today, but we were informed that he was reaching Mexico,” Shinbam said.

Boxer was arrested on July 3 for eliminating its visa in the US and lying on a green card application. The arrest took place on June 28, less than a week after losing his return battle against Paul in Anahem, California.
Chavez, 39, had a warrant for his arrest in Mexico for alleged weapons and drug trafficking and relationships with Sinaloa Cartel. Mexico Attorney General Alejandro Gartz Manero said the investigation of Chavez began in 2019.
Shinbam said that after the arrest, he hopes that the boxer will be deported to face his allegations.

According to DHS, in December 2024, US citizenship and immigration services made a referral for ice that Chavez was an “egoistic public safety threat”, but Chavez was allowed to rebuild the country on 4 January 2025.
