“Rathod was addicted to alcohol, causing frequent quarrels in his family. His wife left him and started living with his father. In the afternoon, his daughter Aushi asked him for money to buy chocolate. In a fit of anger, he strangled him to death using a sari,” the official said.
Rathod’s wife Varsha has demanded capital punishment for her husband.
The accused is a resident of Bhima Tanda in Udjir taluka in Latur district.
The police registered an FIR on an complaint lodged by his wife and arrested her. Further investigation is going on.
