Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday that she would travel to other countries and highlight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in front of the world if the names of real voters are removed from the electoral rolls in the state through a special intensive amendment (SIR).
“If there are atrocities against Bengal and the names of real voters are removed, I will travel to the world. I will expose you to the whole world. I will not remain silent. If there is injustice against land and language, then I will tell the whole world how the rights of the people are being violated in an incredible manner.”
Banerjee led a rally-Bhasha and Linguid Movement-To oppose the alleged atrocities against Bengali speaking migrant workers in the BJP-exposed states in Jhargram.
“Trinumool Congress (TMC) is an expert in staging and lying of supremo dramas. Can she prove that the names of real voters are being removed? Only Bangladeshi, Rohingyas, Dead voters, and duplicate voters have been removed. He is above the constitution?” BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh said on that post?

Banerjee also slammed India’s Election Commission (ECI) to suspend four West Bengal government officials.
The poll panel on Tuesday suspended two election registration officers (EROS) and two Assistant Election Registration Officers (EROS), in which the names of fictional voters were allegedly included in the electoral roles and data security was compromised. The poll panel directed the Chief Secretary of the state to then lodge against four officers and a casual data entry operator. Two Eros are West Bengal Civil Services (Executive) Officer.

He said, “Government officials are being threatened. Yesterday, two of my government officials were suspended. The state was directed to lodge the first lodge against them. Is the election announced? Under which law you (ECI) are directing us? I will not do it. I will not punish them,” he said.
With the West Bengal assembly elections to be held in 2026, the pole panel has asked political parties to present a list of their booth level agents in the state, and the training is being provided to the booth level officials (BLOS).
A political row has erupted in the state, in which the ruling TMC has alleged that the BJP is trying to implement the National Register of Citizens (NRC) under the guise of Sir.

“He (ECI) is the bonded labor of the BJP. He (Union Home Minister) is working as Amit Shah and BJP agents. The Home Minister thinks that whatever he says is in relation to ECI, I would say that it is a puppet in the hands of Shah,” said Banerjee.
In the office of West Bengal, the Chief Electoral Officer’s officials refused to comment on the statements made by Banerjee.
