Samajwadi Party MLA Pooja Pal has thanked Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the “zero-oppression” policy against Mafia-Raja Atik Ahmed, who is accused in the murder of her husband and BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005.
Speaking during a 24-hour marathon discussion on ‘Vision Document 2047’ in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Pooja Pal credited the Chief Minister for action against Atik Ahmed.
The Samajwadi Party MLA said, “Everyone knows how my husband was killed and who did. I want to thank the Chief Minister, who listened to me, when no one else did. He gave justice to many women like me in prayer and punished criminals,” The Samajwadi Party MLA said, “Today the entire state sees the Chief Minister with confidence.”
Pooja Pal alleged that her husband’s killer, Atik Ahmed, was “brought to the ground” under the anti-crime policies of the present government. “When I started getting tired of this fight, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave me justice,” he said.
Raju Pal, then a Bahujan Samaj Party MLA, was shot and killed in January 2005 after marrying Pooja Pal. He defeated Ahmed’s brother, Ashraf Ahmed in a by -election in Allahabad West Constituency. Ahmed and Ashraf were later convicted in a separate case and were killed in police custody in April 2023.
The Chief Minister has repeatedly defended his administration’s “zero-assessment” approach to a crime, which his government says that action has been taken against many mafia data in the state.
Atik Ahmed murdered
On the night of April 15, 2023, Atik Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were also known as Colvin Hospital in Shradragraj for a regular medical examination.
Around 10:36 pm, talking to the media under the police escort, three attackers set fire to the Point-Blanc range as journalists.
A gunman removed Ahmed’s turban before shooting in the head. Overall, about 20 bullets were fired, killing the two brothers on the spot. The attackers were immediately reinforced and arrested.
On the same day, Ahmed’s son Asad was shot dead by Uttar Pradesh Police in an encounter in Jhansi on this day. Assad was a prominent accused in the murder of advocate Umesh Pal.
Police identified Lavlesh Tiwari (22) as Banda district, Mohit alias Sunny (23), Hamirpur and Arun Maurya (18) from Kasganj as Lavlesh Tiwari (22).
Atik Ahmed, a five -time MLA of Samajwadi Party and former Lok Sabha MP, Atik Ahmed, had more than 100 criminal cases against him, including murder, kidnapping and forcibly recovery in a career spread for four decades.
Once in the political and criminal circles of eastern Uttar Pradesh, a prominent person, he was seen as the head of a symbol of the Nexus of crime and politics in the state, the head of a forced recovery and land-hatching network.
