The first team of Morekambay has stopped all football operations as uncertainty continues around the future of the club.
The marks were suspended by the National League by 20 August till 20 August for failure on failure on failure to follow the rules of the league.
London -based sports investment company Punjab Warriors, who have been interacting with the club owner Jason Whitingam for more than a year, said they have been issuing a statement to remain “ready, interested and competent”.
However, he confirmed that the acquisition has not been finalized and “implicated” the current owners to meet the sale.
A joint statement issued by Punjab Warriors, minority shareholders, Srimps Trust and local MP Lizzi Calling said: “The first team has to stop all football operations as the necessary insurance which was no longer paid because the payment has not been made because it has not been paid.
“As a result of this growing situation, the first team players have left the club, ready to leave forward players by the end of this week.”
