The state government said on Wednesday that Raipur, Guru Gasidas Central University and Tribal Research and Knowledge Center at Delhi have signed an MoU, which will pave the way for advanced research on the tribal communities of Bastar and Surguja in Chhattisgarh.
According to a release issued by the government, the cooperation will focus on tribals, cultural heritage and rich traditions of socio-economic structures.
The MoU was signed.
The purpose of the agreement is to conduct research activities on tribal communities over the next three years.
Sharma said that TRKC plays an important role in promoting tribal studies in universities and colleges in India.
He said, “With this agreement, the pace of research on tribal communities of Chhattisgarh will accelerate significantly,” he said.
He emphasized that the research would detect the unexpected dimensions of tribal life, including their ancient traditions, socio-political structures, regulations of governance, indigenous entrepreneurship, sustainable development practices and innovations.
“Conclusions will not only enrich public knowledge, but will also empower the tribal youth with their magnificent heritage and cultural systems,” said this.
Randiv said that the MoU will facilitate joint research projects, field-based case studies and capacity-making programs for youth, administrators and tribal stakeholders.
Planned activities include leadership development workshops and certificate courses, guidance sessions for social impact-based start-ups and innovation under the leadership of tribal youth, and awareness campaigns within tribal communities.
“The results of these studies will also serve as a basis to include tribal issues and knowledge systems in the educational course, which will provide the tribal heritage of Chhattisgarh to recognition and scholars,” Randiv said.
The government said that this historical cooperation takes a step forward in giving a strong educational identity to the indigenous communities of Chhattisgarh, while ensuring that their traditions, history and innovations are documented, preserved and shared with the world.
