A cross-party group of MPs has written to the government that they have been urged to bring sick and injured children from Gaza to UK for treatment.
In the letter to senior ministers, the emphasis on 96 MPs is at risk of adjacent death and any obstacle for their withdrawal should be removed.
They warns the healthcare system in the Gaza strip, “disintegrated” and they request the withdrawal timeline, as well as enough money.
According to the United Nations Charity UNICEF, more than 50,000 children have been killed or injured since the war started in Gaza in October 2023.
Labor MP and GP Dr. A coordinated letter by Simon Opere stated that the necessary infrastructure in Gaza has been destroyed, and a long “blockade” of food, water and medical supply and ongoing violence led a therapy and human destruction of “frightening ratio”.
Addressing the health, home and foreign secretaries, the signs of the letter stated that they were working with the Medical Charity Medicals Frontier (also known as doctors without border, also known as MSF), to speed up the process of bringing children to trauma injuries or the process of bringing serious existing conditions to the UK.
In the letter, the MPs say that regardless of political, iconic or financial interests, “only the clinical requirement and an assessment of the individual case should be based”.
The letter also called children and their families to claim asylum, or once treatment is completed, there is an option to resettles in the UK, or resettled in the UK.
Previously, the Home Office had said that biometric checks would be done before the visit of children and carers – but in the letter the MPs questioned the practicality of such checks before the withdrawal.
Earlier this month, the government said that there is a plan to vacate the seriously ill or injured children from Gaza. And bringing them to Britain for medical treatment was being “on speed”,
No figure is placed on the number to vacate, but it is estimated to be around a few hundred.
Since the onset of the war, the UK has provided funds to be treated by hospitals in the region, and is also working with Jordan for aidrop assistance in the region and demanded from Israel to allow more assistance through the land routes.

Israel strongly rejected the allegations, saying that his army targets terrorists and sometimes citizens, and claims that Hamas is responsible for grief in Gaza.
