MSNBC is going away. But do not shed a tear (not that you are anyway), it is now turning into MS. Or, as the New York Times said, “Goodbye, MSNBC. Hello, MS Now.” The remote-left network lost its tie for the Newji Term “NBC” and looks like some feminist retrade site.
Or, as MSNBC President Rebecca Kutler said, “While our name will be changing, who are we and what we will do.” So, perhaps my audience evaluation is correct. It is like rebranding the Titanic. Certainly, the ship may have made a career to kill the iceberg, but it has got a new name.
The decline with change was sharp. The Times also took a swipe with a follow-up headline: “MSNBC’s ribrand invited the beamusment and ridicule.”
