Nagaland’s Governor La Ganson has allegedly passed away. According to a PTI report, a Raj Bhavan officer said that the governor sitting during treatment at Chennai Hospital died.
According to reports, Ganeson was undergoing treatment at the ICU of a private hospital in Chennai for the past few days. Kohima Raj Bhavan Pro said that the governor died on Friday night.
On August 8, Ganson fell to his house in Chennai and suffered a head injury. Subsequently, he was rushed to the hospital, where doctors accepted him to undergo intensive monitoring and treatment at ICU.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced X to express his condolences on the death of Governor La Ganson.
“Nagaland’s Governor Thiru La. Suffering from the passage of Ganesan ji. He will be remembered as a religious nationalist who dedicated his life to service and nation-building. He worked hard to expand the BJP in Tamil Nadu. He was also deeply emotional with his family and administrator.
Taking X, Nagaland’s Deputy Chief Minister Yathungo Patton expressed his condolences and paid tribute to the late Governor.
He wrote, “Honorable Governor of Nagaland, Mr. La. Surprised and saddened by Ganson ji’s passage. During his journey in public life, he carried on himself with an unwavering commitment to dignity, humility and people’s welfare,” he wrote.
Ganesan was appointed as the 21st Governor of Nagaland on February 12, 2023 and took office on 20 February 2023.
