New Delhi: The United States, after nominating the Resistance Front (TRF), killed 26 citizens by a Pakistan-supported proxy and group of Lashkar-e-Taiyaba behind the Pahgam massacre on 22 April, as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO), China condemned the attack and urged a strong regional cooperation against terror.China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Gian praised American efforts to deal with terrorism. Responding to the designation of TRF’s US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization and a particularly designated global terrorist (SDGT), Lynn said: “China strongly opposed all forms of terrorism and strongly condemned the terrorist attack on 22 April. Regional countries to increase the counterorphic cooperation and increase the regional security and stability.,The US State Department on Thursday announced the designation, highlighting the TRF’s role in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, the most deadly attack on citizens in India since the 2008 Mumbai attack. TRF has also claimed responsibility for several other attacks on Indian security forces in recent years.US State Secretary Marco Rubio said: “Today, the State Department is adding resistance front (TRF) as a nominated foreign terrorist organization (FTO) and a specially designated global terrorist (SDGT). TRF, a Lashkar-e-Tayaba (LET) front and proxy claimed responsibility for civil attack. The TRF has also claimed responsibility for several attacks against the Indian security forces, which recently included in 2024. ,Rubio also specified the resolve of the Trump administration to counter terrorism: “These actions performed by the State Department demonstrate the commitment of the Trump administration to protect our national security interests, combat terrorism and implement President Trump’s call to justice for the Pahgam attack.”The TRF and its surnames have been added to the designation of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba as FTO and SDGT under Section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Executive Order 13224. The designation is effective on publication in the federal register.
