The number of arrests in Saturday’s performance in London in support of the banned group Palestine Action has increased to 532.
Metropolitan police said most of the arrests – 521 – were to display Placards in support of Palestine Action at Parliament Square in Westminster, and a Palestine alliance in March.
Six arrests were to attack the police officers, two to dissolve the terms of the public order Act, to disrupt a constable, and to a racially increased public order offense.
This was the biggest protest because the government prosecuted the group under the Terrorism Act in July, for this, a criminal crime membership, 14 years of jail sentence.
On Sunday, the Metropolitan police said the average age of those arrested was 54, and its counter terrorism team was now working on bringing allegations against people accused of supporting Palestine’s action.
The force said: “In the coming days and weeks, officials of the Met’s counter terrorism command will work to keep the case files required together to secure the allegations against those arrested as part of this operation.”
