Patrick Harvi, co-leader of Scottish Green, has seen a campaign to replace the party’s top candidate in Glasgow in the 2026 Holiroad election.
In a ballot by party members, the outgoing co-maintained topped the Glasgow regional list, which is likely to re-election for Holiroad.
A slate of self -raised “radical” green members – who were leading the party for their time – sought to replace them.
In other regional ballot papers, most of the green MSP topped the list.
The results follow the information about the direction of the party, which is described as a “civil war” by some interiors.
Many party workers have questioned the period spent in the government with the SNP and claimed that the power within the party was concentrated in a very small group.

Holirud’s longest serving party chief, Harvi, announced in April that he would not seek election again as a green co-leader.

Under the electoral system for Holiroad, the regional list vote includes parties ranking their candidates.
The more person appears in the list, the better the opportunity to become an MSP.
Three candidates for the party’s two co -enemies – Gilian McKay, Ross Greece and Lorna Slater – have secured all the top positions in their territories.
All three are the protector of the time when Greens were spent in the government with SNP.
However, North East MSP Maggi Chapman was ranked second, which made the election more difficult again.

And it can be implications beyond greens. The sitting MSP has shown that they are ready to deal with SNP.
This can prove to be important after next year’s Holiroad elections.
