According to Governor Josh Shapiro, two Pennsylvania state soldiers were shot at Sushekhana County on Thursday afternoon, who shared the news during a public attendance in Box County.
“This remains an active phenomenon, and once it ends, I intend to visit the area myself,” said Shapiro.

Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is actively investigating shooting, which took place in the northeastern part of Sushekhana County. Officials have urged the public to avoid the area near Route 171, citing the ongoing security concerns, about five miles north of Thompson.
PSP said that more information about the suspect will be released if available.
Both soldiers were taken to nearby hospitals. Their current conditions have not been revealed.
“Lori and I are praying for these brave soldiers, and our views are with their families, friends and every member of the state police,” Shapiro wrote in a post on X.
Sen John Fetterman, D-Pa., Called it “terrible news”.
“Fierce news out of Susquehanna,” Fetterman wrote in a post on X. “We are waiting for more information about these state soldiers in our thoughts and prayers and our ideas.”
