New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit Japan after receiving an invitation from Japanese Prime Minister Shigru Ishiba. He will later visit China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin.He will travel to both countries from 29 August to 1 September and will attend the major diplomatic engagement and multilateral summit.During the first phase of his visit, PM Modi will visit Japan from August 29-30 and will attend the 15th India-Japan annual summit. This will mark his eighth visit to Japan and his first summit with Prime Minister Ishiba. The two leaders will review the special strategic and global partnership between India and Japan, including defense and safety, trade and economy, technology and innovation and exchange of people from people. They will also discuss issues of regional and global importance, confirming the long -standing friendship between the two countries.In the second phase of his visit, PM Modi will visit China from 31 August to 1 September, which will be on the invitation of President Xi Jinping to attend the SCO summit. China has described the summit as the largest in the history of the block, in which it is expected to participate with 20 world leaders including PM Modi. On the occasion of the summit, PM Modi is expected to have bilateral meetings with several leaders.India has been a member of SCO since 2017 and organized the council of heads of the state during 2022-23. Earlier this week, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi formally invited PM Modi for the SCO Summit on behalf of President Xi, which the Prime Minister accepted, highlighted the importance of the summit for regional cooperation and dialogue.
