A mechanic died after being crushed under a car, on which he was working, an inquiry has heard.
27 -year -old Daniel Burton of Port Telbot was found to be unanswered under a car related to his partner’s father on Southol Avenue, Skaven, Nath on 22 January.
Mr. Burton lived with his partner Abbie, his daughter Maddy-Mai, and another child was Beni, who was a “cute little family bubble” at the hearing at Swanasi Koroner’s court.
A coroner concluded that Mr. Burton’s death was accidental because the axle stand who was holding the vehicle was trapped under it.
Mr. Burton had qualified as a mechanic to work in Port Talbot Steelworks before taking voluntary excesses.
When the accident occurred, he was about to pass his Mot Testers course at Bridge College.
The inquiry heard how two passers -by found him trapped under the Audi A3 and raised the alarm.
During the hearing, DET Con Kelly Hurley said that Mr. Burton’s partner asked him not to work on the car because it was a “big job” and it was “very dark”.
A neighbor who saw him working on a car, warn him to warn him that it seemed insecure because the vehicle was parked on the slope.
However, he decided against reaching him, as he felt that he had not “appreciated” advised.
Around 18:30 GMT, two women who were looking for their car, which was stolen, which was seen under the Audi to Mr. Burton, and went to ask him if he had seen his vehicle.
He did not reply, which when he saw that he was pinned under the car he was working.
The inquiry heard that a neighbor used a jack to pick up the vehicle from Mr. Burton’s body to expel him from below.
Emergency services were called and a paramedic announced that he died on 18:53 GMT.
House to house and forensic were interrogated and the police decided that there were no suspicious circumstances.
In a post -mortem examination, it was concluded that Mr. Burton died as a result of painful asphixia.
“This crush is also known as aspiqia,” the coroner Colin Philips said, “sometimes occurs in sports stadiums.”
He recorded a conclusion of accidental death and offered his condolences to Mr. Burton’s family.
Mr. Philips said, “He was very much in love and will be missed a lot and I hope you will get a degree of closure now.”
