Rubina Irshad Sheikh was registered in the Baykula Mahila Jail after the Navi Mumbai Police was arrested earlier this month to illegally reside in India.
A police officer said on Monday that the 21 -year -old pregnant Bangladeshi woman who had escaped was run away from jail for medical treatment after bringing him to JJ Hospital.
Rubina Irshad Sheikh was registered in the Baykula Mahila Jail after the Navi Mumbai Police was arrested earlier this month to illegally reside in India.
“On August 15, she was brought to JJ Hospital for treatment due to her alleged being unwell. She left a female constable and managed to escape by taking advantage of the crowd. We examined CCTV footage and held her from Ghanoli in Navi Mumbai,” the official said.
The official said that the woman, who is already facing allegations under the Passport Act and Foreigners Act, has now been booked to avoid custody under Section 262 of the Indian Judge.
