The Odisha police have urged people not to pay attention to the social media post about the death of a 15 -year -old girl due to Kalash injuries in Puri district, as it is a sensitive matter that includes a minor.Puri Superintendent of Police, Pinak Mishra said that the investigation was moving forward at his conclusion and he was also watching who recorded and operated a video clip that showed the injured girl speaking, which went viral on Sunday. The incident took place on July 19, when the girl’s mother filed a cedar at Balanga police station, alleging that her daughter was kidnapped and on fire by three persons on the banks of the Bhargavi river. With 70% of the burning, the teenager was airlifted to AIIMS-Deley the next day, but died on 2 August.A few hours after his death, the police said in a post on X, “According to the investigation so far, it is clear that no other person is involved.” Her father also commented, without detail, that her daughter was “under mental pressure and killed her.Responding to broadcasting social media posts, where the girl was heard talking about the incident, Mishra appealed for restraint. He said, “Please do not pay attention to such positions. I also appeal that anyone should avoid forwarding such sensitive materials, including a minor victim,” he said. The SP said that the investigation was almost complete, in which the police was waiting for the report from the forensic science laboratory before submitting the charge sheet in the court. “Initially, there were some specific allegations, which were also part of the FIR. The day when the victim was being transferred to the hospital, he made a similar statement. I think the video that has gone viral, was made that day, ”Mishra explained. He added, “We are investigating who really recorded the video and how it went on social media. It was a confidential matter.” Mishra said that assistance was sought from the cyber team and warned against sharing any material related to the minor. “Since the victim is a minor, his name or video should not be included. It is a violation of the Juvenile Justice Act,” he said that the last statement of the victim was recorded in the presence of a judicial magistrate.Mishra reiterated, “We have followed complete transparency in the investigation. The family members of the victims knew about it. Therefore, I again appeal to ignore the social media video on the matter.”Meanwhile, the matter proceeded as senior BJD leaders Lenin Mohanty, Ipsita Sahu and Subrata Chhatoi on the matter, accusing the BJP government of protecting those responsible for the incident.“We demand a judicial inquiry into the matter and the incident took place in his Nimpara assembly constituency as the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Prasas Parda. A judicial inquiry would reveal the truth as the police also suspects,” Mohanty said at a press conference.
